Ref. 352 - Design and characterization of microwave and millimeter-wave devices and systems for biomedical and industrial applications
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
09/IINF-02 - Electromagnetic Fields
Description
Study, design, and experimental characterization of new miniaturized microwave and millimeter-wave devices with energy autonomy, communication and sensing capabilities, with applications in harsh industrial and e-health environments. Devices for powering through radiated radiofrequency energy will be developed based on innovative radiating systems whose near-field radiative capabilities allow for focusing and localizing EM energy. Predictive models, based on EM simulations and extensive measurement campaigns, will also be developed to determine the optimal placement of these sources. Achieving the above objectives will require the expert use of multi-domain (circuital/electromagnetic) and propagation environment simulation tools.
