Spatially explicit bioeconomic models for sustainable fisheries management under climate change - 2026_CDR_DEIB_1
Scientific-Disciplinary Group
05/BIOS-05 - Ecology
Description
Achieving fisheries sustainability requires balancing biodiversity conservation with socioeconomic viability, yet this goal is complicated by the dynamic spatial and temporal interactions between fish populations and fishing activities. This research program aims to develop spatially explicit mathematical models that integrate Earth Observation data, environmentally driven population dynamics, detailed representations of fishing behavior, and socioeconomic indicators. The resulting framework will support the design of effective and adaptive management strategies for multi-species, multi-fleet fisheries under changing climate conditions.
