Description
The ERC project PrSc-HDBayLe addresses the challenge of scalability in computational Bayesian learning algorithms, particularly Markov chain Monte Carlo methods, which are increasingly used in complex and high-dimensional models. As data size and complexity grow, these methods must become more efficient and robust. The project will develop theoretical and methodological results applicable to a variety of statistical modeling frameworks, with the aim of improving and optimizing existing computational approaches and designing new, more scalable algorithms. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the development and analysis of algorithms for Bayesian learning, with a particular focus on robustness, drawing on expertise in computational statistics, machine learning, sampling and optimization algorithms, and stochastic processes.
