09/IEGE-01 - Business And Management Engineering
Description
Food supply chains are exposed to several environmental and social challenges, and therefore the sustainable transition is of paramount importance in this context. Alternative Food Networks are usually considered as a more sustainable alternative to conventional supply chains, but this needs to be demonstrated through adequate measures. The goal of the research project is to understand the governance, the process and the tools for sustainability performance in management in the context of both Alternative Food Networks and conventional supply chains. The research will conduct case studies in both alternative food networks and conventional supply chains, involving representative actors at different stages of the value chain.
