Description
The MOLDisTory project investigates the role of merchant-bankers and the interconnection between commercial and financial intermediation in Early Modern Europe (16th–17th centuries), using unique primary-source data from the archives of the Bank of Saint George (Banca di San Giorgio).The main responsibilities of the Research Assistant will include:• Collecting, cleaning, and preparing unstructured data.• Data analysis: preparing graphs and tables, and applying econometric techniques to develop descriptive statistics and estimate economic models.• Exploring machine learning techniques for handwritten text recognition.• Conducting literature reviews.• Assisting in the drafting of reports and academic articles.• Supporting the MOLDisTory research team in the various activities of the project.
