Description
Participation in simulation and analysis activities of biochemical, thermochemical, and electrochemical processes for the production of fuels (e.g., BEMARS project) and electricity (e.g., RdS project), e.g., biogas production through biomass digestion; syngas production through biomass gasification; conditioning, reforming, separation, and combined heat and power generation through fuel cells. Modeling of systems through their components (e.g., biodigester, gasifier, membrane-assisted electrified reforming reactor, solid oxide cell, gas cleaning and conditioning systems) and subsequent performance optimization, evaluating various process flow diagrams (PFDs) with different operating conditions for the flows and reactors, as well as the possibilities for recovering and reusing waste heat from system components.
