Description

The Post-Doc position involves research activities using Run2+Run3 data collected by the CMS experiment, including quarkonium spectroscopy studies related to understanding the nature of the X(3872) state. Specifically, the main activity will consist of finding a partner for X(3872) in the bottomonium sector and/or finding new decay channels for X(3872). The candidate must have expertise in hadronic and conventional spectroscopy physics and have carried out research in at least one of the sectors of mesons with two heavy quarks (c-cbar, c-bbar, b-bbar). Furthermore, he/she must have knowledge of the CMS reconstruction software and its framework, and have skills and experience in the use of Machine Learning algorithms in High Energy Physics and in the optimization of their hyperparameters.
