Support infrastructure for managing and orchestrating cloud continuum resources for Industry 5.0 applications

The candidate will pursue activities aimed at designing, developing, and validating a software infrastructure for managing and orchestrating distributed resources across the cloud continuum to support Industry 5.0 applications. Activities will include extending Kubernetes platforms with advanced mechanisms for context-aware scheduling, dynamic management of orchestration policies, proactive migration of stateless/stateful services, and state synchronization. Implementation, integration, and testing in edge and cloud environments will also be carried out, including prototyping, running experimental campaigns, collecting and analyzing results, and evaluating performance in terms of availability, latency, and business continuity. The candidate will focus on all these aspects to develop a supporting infrastructure capable of ensuring both data continuity and (soft) real-time constraints, while minimizing resource utilization.
