Beyond Hidden Frontiers: Territorial Misalignment and Social Imaginaries in Contemporary Borderscapes BEYOND

The researcher will contribute to the first phase of the Beyond Hidden Frontiers project, investigatingthe relationships between territorial misalignment, borderscapes and social imaginaries in border and minority regions. Activities will include a systematic interdisciplinary literature review; further development and operationalisation of theconceptual framework and definition of analytical criteria for subsequent comparative research; empirical research on South Tyrol through document and policy analysis, qualitative interviews, collection of narrative and visual material, and mapping of territorial representations; and qualitative data organisation, coding and analysis.
