Legal and Institutional Aspects of the History of the Italian Judiciary (19th–20th Centuries)
The research aims to examine, in light of its historical antecedents, the evolution of the legal framework governing the judiciary in the Kingdom of Sardinia and, subsequently, in unified Italy, up to the developments of the post-Second World War period, with particular emphasis on the recruitment of judges and the resulting socio-cultural implications. To this end, the research will involve the following activities:1. The examination of the primary sources and the archival and bibliographical materials relevant to the research;2. The inventorying and arrangement, where necessary, of previously uncatalogued archival collections or parts thereof;3. A prosopographical study of selected members of the judiciary who, between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, contributed to reshaping the relationships and balance of power between the judiciary, politics, and state institutions;4. The creation of a database containing the collected data.

Mandatory requirement for admission to the selection: italian Laurea Magistrale, or Laurea a Ciclo Unico, or an equivalent degree from foreign Universities, obtained no more than 6 years prior to the application deadline (i.e obtained after 13/10/2020).
