Clinical and translational study on disease evolution, treatment resistance and neuroendocrine differentiation in metastatic prostate cancer

Prostate cancer (PC) is a hormone-driven disease that, under therapeutic pressure, progressively develops resistance to androgen-directed therapies through complex molecular adaptations. In a subset of patients, these changes lead to lineage plasticity and neuroendocrine transformation, resulting in an aggressive disease phenotype associated with poor prognosis and limited therapeutic options.This project aims to establish a clinically annotated cohort of patients with aggressive variants of metastatic prostate cancer, integrating longitudinal clinical data with tissue and blood samples collected during routine clinical practice. The integrated clinical and translational characterization of this cohort will support the investigation of the biological mechanisms underlying treatment resistance, neuroendocrine transformation and disease evolution, providing a framework for future translational research on aggressive variants of prostate cancer.
