Design and characterization of advanced adsorbents for CO2 Capture
The research activity is focused on the design, synthesis and advanced characterization of porous and composite materials for selective CO2 capture and separation. A wide range of adsorbent materials, including metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), zeolites, carbon-based materials, cyclodextrin-based materials and hybrid composites, will be synthesized and optimized to improve their adsorption capacity, selectivity and stability under relevant operating conditions. A comprehensive multi-technique characterization approach, including X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy, IR spectroscopy, gas adsorption volumetry, microcalorimetry and breakthrough analyses, will be employed to investigate the structural, textural and adsorption properties of the synthesized materials. The relationships between physicochemical properties and CO2 adsorption performance will be established to guide the rational design of next-generation adsorbents for carbon capture applications.

Mandatory requirement for admission to the selection: italian Laurea Magistrale, or Laurea a Ciclo Unico, or an equivalent degree from foreign Universities, obtained no more than 6 years prior to the application deadline (i.e obtained after 13/10/2020).
