2026_IR_11_ICEA - Spatial and socio-environmental analysis of (agri)photovoltaic expansion in Veneto for a sustainable and just energy transition

The IR is embedded within the JustBioSolar project (European Biodiversa+ 2024 call). The project’s main objective is to provide an integrated understanding of current and potential rural landscape transformations driven by (agri)photovoltaic projects in Europe, by analysing their direct and indirect impacts, synergies and trade-offs on biodiversity, including biocultural diversity and the diverse values of nature associated with it, as well as perceptions of socio-environmental and climate justice. In particular, the IR will contribute to the implementation of WP2 activities for the Italian component. This WP focuses on the critical and in-depth analysis of local case studies (partner countries Germany, Spain, Czechia and Italy) where (agri)photovoltaic projects are planned and implemented, and where their ecological and social effects materialize directly.
