Degradation analysis of intermediate-temperature polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) - 2026_IDR_DENG_27

The activity will focus on the experimental characterization and modelling of PEM fuel cells operating at high and intermediate temperatures, with particular emphasis on the validation of cell configurations, the investigation of degradation phenomena, and the assessment of the influence of operating conditions. Experimental campaigns will be carried out in single-cell configuration to evaluate the electrochemical performance of the developed solutions under different operating conditions. A specific part of the activity will be devoted to degradation studies using zero-gradient hardware, both for HT-PEM systems and intermediate-temperature PEM fuel cells, by monitoring performance evolution over time and applying electrochemical diagnostic techniques. The activity will also include the development and application of numerical models to support the interpretation of experimental results, the analysis of transport phenomena, and the identification of the main parameters affecting perfor
