Influence of Excess Lithium on the Electrochemical Performance of DRX Cathodes for Lithium-Ion Batteries - 2026_IDR_DENG_30
This project aims to investigate the influence of excess lithium content on the structural and electrochemical properties of disordered rock-salt (DRX) cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs).A series of DRX cathode materials with systematically varied lithium contents will be designed and synthesized to establish correlations between composition, structure, and electrochemical performance. The effects of lithium excess on parameters such as specific capacity, voltage profile, rate capability, cycling stability, and voltage hysteresis will be evaluated. Particular attention will be given to identifying the optimum lithium content that provides sufficient lithium-ion transport and high reversible capacity while minimizing undesirable effects such as structural degradation, oxygen loss, voltage fading, and irreversible capacity.
