Literary Production and Scientific-Erudite Tradition in Rome Between the Late Republic and the Imperial Age

This research is aimed at studying the relationships between literary production and authors of the scientific-erudite tradition in Rome during the period between the late Republic and the Imperial age. Particular attention is given to the ways in which poets and prose writers presuppose data and concepts developed by such authors, who, for their part, also work on literary texts (often canonical or otherwise considered exemplary), aware of their own ability to determine their reception and, more generally, to influence the themes and forms of literary production, in an integrated process that is characteristic of Hellenistic-Roman culture.
